New Look!

Yay! I've finally gotten my "blog lift" and I think it is FANTABULOUS!! It's all thanks to my crafty friend Teale! She does a super job and I'm very proud of her. She makes it super easy to do, so if you're lookin' to spice up your page, just click on the "Teale's digi-disigns" button below my picture and see what she can do. I know she'll be able to cook something up for you that you'll like.

In other news, I met Patrick Dempsey... Ok,so maybe I just posed by his picture in a cardboard cutout, but at least now I've got my picture with him! Ah... McDreamy...

In other news, we went to see the new Indiana Jones movie tonight. I've been looking forward to it ALL WEEK! It was typical Indie with tongue-in-cheek lines and lots of action. If you're not a huge fan, you won't become on with this movie, but if you're already hooked, you'll like it a lot! I won't say any more in case those of you who haven't seen it want to. I'm off on a week-long mission trip on Monday, so I'm sure I'll have plenty to report when I get back. Have a great week!

School's Out For Summer

Yay! I made it through the year! Today was the last day of school and I'm ready for some peace and quiet. I am going to miss my "babies," as I call them, but I'm not going to miss the tattling, hitting, potty accidents, (yes, potty accidents!) cleaning up vomit or the noisy lunchroom! I will miss the sweet hugs and kisses and the fantastic artwork my kids can do! I really had a great class this year, which is not something a teacher will just say. All of my parents were great, and the kids were, too! It was my first year as the Preschool Director and having to deal with DHR, so I'm sure next year will go even more smoothly... I hope! Anyway, today was a kind of bittersweet day, since I'm glad to have a break, but I know that I won't see half of my class again because they're going to kindergarten in public schools. However, I do know that the other half will be back next year, and some even in my room. I really do love these guys, and can't wait to get started with my new class for next year! Well, I guess I CAN wait, and I do need a break, but I do anticipate a great year next year! Below are some pictures of my babies from this year. I'm sure you'll understand why I'll miss them once you see them!

This is one of my two sets of twins. Aren't they ADORABLE?!

This is my other set of twins and another one of my students on the way to the zoo.

My Dad the Beauty Queen

This Friday was the annual Relay For Life celebration / fund raiser in Columbiana at the baseball field. For those of you who aren't familliar with this, teams that are mad up of different businesses and organizations raise money to help find a cure for cancer. There is a surviver walk, in which cancer survivors make a "victory lap" around the field and luminaries are purchased in honor or memory of loved ones. Each group has its own way to raise money, and my dad was in a group this year. His bank (First United Security Bank) formed a team, and devised a fabulous way to raise money - a womanless fashion show! So my dad, being the good sport that he is, agreed to dress up for the said show. His, um, HER stage name was Edie Brazier, and he looked fantastic! We decided on the boots and hat Thursday night. I think it was a stroke of genious! During the show, the three contestants had to freestyle dance to "Man, I Feel Like A Woman", and these contestants didn't disappoint! The winner was decided by which contestant received the most donations, and dad won! We had a great time for a great cause!
